Philippine Passport Application Procedure

Philippine passport application has never been this good. If you have experienced waiting in a very long queue when getting your passport or renewal of passport in the past years, you dont have to worry. DFA has done something great to make it easier for all of us. Good Job!


STEP 1. Set an appointment. Go to http://www.megamall.passport.com.ph/set-appointment. Fill up the online form and submit. Once submitted, you will receive an email from the DFA site with a confirmation link.Just click the confirmation link and print the form in a long bond paper within 24 hours else your appointment will be cancelled. Note: If the email doesnt contain complete confirmation link to download your
filled-in form, just reply back and someone will resend it for you.

STEP 2. Go to 7th Floor Megamall Building C Edsa corner J. Vargas Avenue Mandaluyong City. Go to the bus loading and unloading area (Megamall Building C) and take an elevator going to Level 6 (Car Park), the line starts there.

STEP 3. Be ON-TIME.Be there 30 minutes before your appointment date and time.  
The office will open 10AM. Go to the INFORMATION AREA.Prepare the application form and appointment page (in long bond paper; 2 pages total) Someone will check if you have the correct form and schedule.

STEP 4. Get your number.Just tap "PASSPORTING" in the monitor and will provide you a service number.

STEP 5. Go to the PROCESSING AREA.There are chairs where you can wait.Look at the monitor to check which window you need to go to process your application.Prepare your ID and other supporting documents.If you need to photocopy your documents,there is a photocopy service inside (PHP3.00 per document).
Go to http://www.megamall.passport.com.ph/requirements to check the requirements.They will ask you if you would like normal and rush processing.You will be given a payment form/receipt with passport release date.
STEP 6. Go to the PAYMENT AREA and pay for the passport application fee (http://megamall.passport.com.ph/passport-fees). Keep the service number you used from the beginning, they will ask you whats your service number and you have to wait for data encoding.

STEP 7. Go to the ENCODING AREA. Look at the monitor to check which window you need to go for data encoding. Someone will input your personal information in the system as well as finger print, picture and signature. Look at the monitor to verify that the data encoded is correct. They will give you receipt and you're
done.

If you would like to avail Passport Delivery, STEP 8. Go to COURIER AREA and pay PHP120. They need the receipt given from STEP 7 and you will be given a receipt and confirmation for your passport delivery.

If you would like to claim the passport personally, you can go to PASSPORT RELEASING AREA on the release date indicated in your receipt.

Thanks for the info. I will have my first ever passport application on October 13 and I am excited! My documents are ready, however, my NBI clearance says, “NOT FOR TRAVEL ABROAD”, something like that. I re-used my old NBI clearance which I used for employment, November of last year (It expires November this year and I want to utilize it as much as I can). Do you think the stamped sign, “”NOT FOR TRAVEL ABROAD”" will have an effect on my application? Here are the documents I have at hand:

Transcript of Records
TIN Card
Postal ID
NBI Clearance
